Art Direction - The Devil of Hope's Cross

This project was originally planned as an art and animation development showcase to push the team's skills, output quality, and creativity when they are between projects, providing them with work to share in their portfolios.

After time was spent developing the world, narrative and ideating on the gameplay the scope expanded to include the design, engineering, QA and production teams who worked to develop a playable prototype.

Each member of the d3t team who worked on The Devil of Hope’s Cross, past and present contributed excellent work, ideas and solutions to this project.

It’s a pleasure to see it to continually improve.

This document shares some of the Creative and Art Direction I provided on the project to guide and challenge the team, it showcases some of the approaches I took to communicate the direction over the course of the project

Additional elements of Art Direction, project leadership and organisation was contributed by the team as intended to develop these skills.
