Lantern Player Prop

This asset served as a visual benchmark and also functions as an in-game player object to detect the games enemy "The Devil".
It was produced to maintain a high fidelity across first-person, third-person, and cinematic views.

Art Direction
The direction was to have a painterly, "implied detail" style with grounded, realistic weathering. The focus being on clear readability across all the content.

The asset also had to reflect the theme of an austere "Hard West" setting, featuring a protective sigil and medallion to ward off evil, aligning to the supernatural elements of the world. The design also features "crafted" components to reinforce the devil detecting device.

Technical Specifications
The texel density is 20.48 px/cm (double the standard project texel density) to accommodate close-up cinematic shots and FPS Player POV.

The model adheres to specific mesh density guidelines to maximize efficiency for performance while availing of the additional level of detailing that virtualized geometry affords.
